To help generate ideas for posts during #LandArchSD, we are bringing back the “Cootie Catcher” (or whirlybird to some)!  This graphic / flyer can be cut out and folded to make your own Catcher and includes a few questions to get everyone thinking (feel free to come up with your own as well).  Brian Phelps has posted a quick video to Vimeo that shows how to cut and fold the flyer to make your own Catcher.
So, download and print the flyer and make your own Catcher or pass it along to a friend or two.  Either way, have fun and let us know what you think of the spaces and places in and around San Diego during #asla2011!

As a part of this year’s ASLA Annual Meeting in San Diego, I will be presenting as a part of a panel discussion (with Boyd Coleman and Brian Phelps) on the use of #SocialMedia in Landscape Architecture (“Social Media Strategies for Landscape Architects”).  During the course of the conference, we are attempting acrowdsourcing project, #LandArchSD, that we hope will show the potential of #SocialMedia to the profession.  To help explain a little more about our effort, Boyd Coleman has also done a nice write-up on this effort in a separate post on his personal blog.  Additionally, a companionFacebook page has been developed to share, collaborate and explain some of the tools of our effort.  The Facebook page will also allow those not attending the conference to have an opportunity to follow along with some of happenings and goings-on in and around San Diego.
If you have a chance, check out some of the stuff we are up to and let us know what you think and if you will be in San Diego, let us know!
